POSITION SUMMARY

  • Works collaboratively with special education and classroom teachers as well as other professionals to support the academic and social / emotional growth of students including IEP goals objectives and / or accommodations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Works with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning objectives and standards.
  • Assists with small group learning activities.
  • Provides instructional support during online learning.
  • Assists with the development of students social / emotional skills.
  • Supports students in learning classroom / school routines and procedures.
  • Provides supervision and a safe environment for students during structured and unstructured times such as lunch recess transitions loading / unloading of buses and any other assigned duties.
  • Maintains a positive professional solution-focused demeanor at all times.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Willingness to substitute or perform duties as requested.

    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or career technical facility; or an Associates Degree; or successfully completed the ParaPro assessment.
  • Some experience in working with children.

    • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • This position requires periods of standing; some walking moving climbing carrying bending kneeling crawlingreaching handling pushing and pulling. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
