The City of Lenexa is currently accepting applications for a part time Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator with a focus on Nature to join our team.

Position Summary
This position assists with the on-site management and daily operations of the Farmers Market as well as responsible for assisting in the development, facilitating, and overseeing nature and / or interpretive programs.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position. This position must be able to work the following : Saturdays 6 a.m.- 2 p.m. (most Saturdays May-October, one Saturday a month during January-April and November-December) and Tuesdays 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (between Memorial Day and Labor Day) and the occasional holiday. Regular weekday schedule will be scheduled according to needs.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
Qualifications
Minimum : High school diploma or G.E.D.; one to two years of experience working in a fast-paced, customer service environment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must have First Aid / CPR / AED certification or obtain within six months of employment.
Compensation and Benefits
Hiring range is from $19.71 - $22.18 per hour depending on qualifications and directly related experience. This is a part-time, hourly non-exempt position. The City of Lenexa offers a comprehensive benefits package including :
Environment and Physical Factors
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. This position requires the ability to lift and move supplies and materials related to recreation programs, activities and events including tables, chairs, traffic barricades, tents and signage; the ability to occasionally lift up to 20-30 lbs.; and long hours of standing with limited breaks will be encountered during market and on trips.
