Medical Interviewer

This is a temporary position within the App Assist department, focused on scheduling and conducting interviews with applicants. The role involves gathering personal and medical information to exceed standards while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct professional, courteous, articulate interviews and follow-up calls to build positive rapport and obtain pertinent information.
  • Review documents, notes, and correspondence for additional or anecdotal information.
  • Accurately enter data into the Application Interview System (AIS) and Assistant Underwriting System (AURA) to document case activity and ensure accurate processing of life insurance policy contracts.
  • Provide accurate, prompt, and professional service to all inquiries received by phone or in writing while maintaining departmental standards.
  • Correspond effectively within the department, underwriting staff, vendors, and other departments to resolve problems and expedite business.
  • Effectively communicate policies, procedures, and guidelines to internal and external customers.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of Administrative or Customer Service experience, preferably in a call center.
  • Solid medical vocabulary and comfortable with medical terminology.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable with technology and remote work environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Work Environment

    The position operates Monday to Friday, 12 : 30 PM to 9 : 00 PM. Initial training is fully remote for the first week, from 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with a backup training time from 10 : 00 AM to 6 : 30 PM if needed. Candidates must be local to occasionally attend onsite meetings. A private office space is required with a wired internet connection. The role is part of a team of 7-10 Case Managers in a large office environment with over 400 employees.

    This is a Contract position based out of Frederick, Maryland.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 / hr.
