JOB SUMMARY
Provide system support and oversight by monitoring NCL MAPS-Sabre transactions to ensure system functionality and compliance with all established crew travel policies while maintaining travel budgets and appropriate vessel staffing according to scheduling plan.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Travel Agents, Shipboard HR Operation Managers, Assignment Specialists, and Deployment Administrators to secure travel arrangements for NCL vessels.
- Monitor and oversee all MAPS-Sabre interface transactions to ensure continuous system functionality.
- Request and approve travel arrangements according to Company policy for all leaving and joining crew not automatically generated in MAPS by Autogen. Identify alternate and cost-effective travel arrangements for leaving and joining crew taking into consideration fare costs, availability, cancellation fees and penalties, alternative ports, fare costs for replacement crew and various factors.
- Provide information and recommendations to the team so appropriate and cost-effective changes can be made to scheduling plans.
- Request ad hoc travel arrangements for officers and crew members scheduled to be on training, special events, medical debarks, emergency travel and any non-assignment related travel.
- Review appropriate documentation provided by Shipboard HR Operations Manager's and create / approve travel request in MAPS.
- Process cancellation requests for travel arrangements as a direct result of changes to scheduling plans due to attrition, visa restrictions, business unit requirements and itinerary changes.
- Calculate all fees, penalties and costs associated with travel changes and provide information to Supervisor Travel Administrator for tracking and reporting purposes to collect any fees and cost from the crew member.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE : High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE
One-year previous airline reservation or travel agency experience.COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
Working knowledge of Sabre traveling system is required.Knowledge of or ability to learn MAPS scheduling system to navigate and enter information as appropriate.Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with special emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel to develop correspondence, emails, and basic reports.Detail oriented to accurately process MAPS-Sabre transactions and request or cancel travel arrangements by correctly using the system.Good written and verbal communication skills required to effectively interact with Shipboard HR Operations Managers and shore side team members within the organization.Strong organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and high-volume crew movement while working in a fast-paced environment.Ability to shift priorities based on scheduling / business demands.Knowledge of or ability to learn global visa requirements and travel documents.Knowledge of general global geography to minimize travel cost and time.To Executive Search Firms & Staffing Agencies : NCLH does not accept unsolicited resumes from any agencies.
