Job Title : Engineering Technician – Substation

Location : West Coast (Preferred : Tualatin, OR; also open to Phoenix, AZ; Sacramento or Irvine, CA)

Work Type : Hybrid or flexible work options may be considered after days based on performance, assignments, and management discretion.

Position Summary :

The Engineering Technician functions in a senior-level capacity with minimal supervision, performing advanced technical tasks in support of engineering deliverables. This role requires a strong understanding of electronic applications, document control processes, and engineering standards. The technician may also guide junior staff and contribute to project coordination and quality assurance efforts.

Key Responsibilities :

Engineering Standards :

  • Apply knowledge of engineering standards, systems, and departmental guides.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining design consistency and accuracy.

Quality & Continuous Improvement :

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and change management efforts.
  • Demonstrate accuracy in work and review of design inputs.

    • Engineering Production :

  • Develop and modify engineering deliverables based on various inputs.
  • Perform calculations such as quantity take-offs and material estimates.
  • Innovate and improve work processes through broader use of applications.

    • Project Coordination :

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to reduce design conflicts or errors.
  • Support field activities and assist in finalizing project records and documentation.

    • Client Focus :

  • Understand and respond to the needs of internal clients while recognizing external client priorities.

    • Knowledge Sharing & Technology :

  • Share and apply knowledge of the latest technologies and tools.
  • Exercise sound judgment in deliverable creation and input interpretation.

    • People Management & Mentorship :

  • Provide technical guidance and work direction to junior team members.
  • May assist with mentoring and professional development of others.

    • Requirements :

  • Experience : + years in a relevant engineering technician role.

    • Technical Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical , AutoCAD D , SDS , and / or Inventor .
  • Experience with MicroStation is preferred.
