Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and daily oversight for the client accounting team, including hiring, supervising, mentoring, training, and handling disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Owner Policies, Procedures, Management Agreements, and SOC1 controls through regular audits and reviews of financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.
  • Manage Treasury functions, including disbursement approvals and acting as signatory on client bank accounts.
  • Oversee and coordinate client transitions (onboarding and offboarding), ensuring due diligence and documentation of Owner / Client requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in client accounting functions, policies, and team communication in collaboration with Property Management leaders.
  • Maintain regular communication with Owner Representatives, clients, internal / external auditors, and tax preparers to ensure alignment and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of property management accounting experience, including at least 3 years in an accounting leadership role.
  • Commercial Real Estate accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, cash and accrual accounting, CAM reconciliations, financial reporting, operating expense reconciliations, and budget preparation processes.
  • Proficiency in real estate accounting software MRI (Yardi a plus) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe.
