Warehouse Supervisor

Summary

The LXP Warehouse Supervisor - Charlotte performs the necessary duties to ensure the successful receiving and order fulfillment of the LXP Division. This person is responsible for the overall management and administration of the warehouse team including overall supervision, hiring, training, discipline and personnel development, and order fulfillment management with overall emphasis on quality assurance, customer satisfaction, and team performance under budget. Skills needed for this position include supervising, organization, procedure writing, and training / development of personnel. Good oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational and analytical skills are required. This person will be responsible for handling projects from conception to completion : coordinating with client around the order entry activities and outbound order schedules.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

• Directs and coordinates the physical logistics activities in the warehouse - including but not limited to receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
• Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications and other data to plan and develop logistics programs' activities from conception stage through completeness.
• Establishes the operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling of materials and inventory integrity.
• Ensures that the material handling group is properly trained on each station of the logistics cycle and when required, certified on all equipment.
• Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other departments, such as sales, transportation, installation, etc.
• Ensures that all employees work in conformance with all State and Federal guidelines while in the warehouse facility.
• Continue training & development of the team through Work Compass.

Education and / or Experience

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and utilize proper equipment when lifting items of greater weights. Necessary to spend several hours per day standing, often operating machinery - such as order picker or pallet wrapper. Required to type reports. Must be able to read instructions. Must be able to communicate with customers and employees via the phone and email. This is a position that may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays, on occasion.
