Dual Certified NP PMHNP / FNP

Psychiatric hospitalist group providing addiction recovery and dual diagnosis treatment for adults in a gender separate setting located on South Padre Island.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Dual Certified Nurse Practitioner with PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) and FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner) certifications. The role is based in South Padre Island, TX. The responsibilities include providing high-quality patient care in both family and psychiatric mental health settings, conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and managing mental health and physical health conditions, prescribing medications, and engaging in patient education and counseling. The role also involves maintaining accurate and thorough medical records and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive patient care plans.

Qualifications

• Certified as both Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
• Experience in prescribing medications and managing treatment plans in mental health and family practice contexts
• Excellent communication, patient education, and counseling skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding ethical and regulatory healthcare standards
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and work with diverse patient populations
• Master's degree in nursing or related field, with a current, unrestricted nurse practitioner license
• Experience working in both mental health and family practice settings is preferred
