About the Opportunity The Procurement Manager the procurement and inventory of production and non-production materials, equipment, and / or services in accordance with corporate objectives including quality, price, and continuity. This role balances supply with demand, manages the day to day purchasing operational activities and develops, plans, and executes innovative sourcing strategies while strengthening supplier relationships.
In this role, the successful candidate :
- Provides guidance with internal stakeholders in regards to purchasing, supplier complications, legal and quality compliances issues.
- Develops, implements, and monitors supplier performance programs. Ensures purchase orders and contracts meet legal and quality standards.
- Ensures supply availability and continuity of critical components throughout product lifecycles (New Product Introduction to End of Life).
- Identifies and mitigates supply chain risks, part shortages and supply disruptions.
- Mitigates raw material shortages and obsolescence.
- Develops and implements strategic sourcing initiatives for direct and indirect / capex categories. Focuses on supply continuity by improving organization structures, identifying and standardize duties, tasks, business processes, metrics (KPI’s) and system enhancements.
- Motivates and coaches employees by assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities. Delegates tasks and manages progress to ensure successful completion of department objectives. Creates and reinforces a culture of teamwork and actively resolves conflicts within the team. Manages proactively by holding regular 1on1s and team meetings to ensure open lines of communication and professional development for direct reports. Identifies and monitors savings, cost avoidance, and improvements in payment terms.
- Maintains updated supplier file requirements required for compliance to CFR 820.5, ISO 13485 and other MDSAP Quality requirements.
- Manages the procurement raw material spend and departmental budgets.
- Introduces and implements ESI (Early Supply Involvement) in new product launches.

- What does it take to be successful? Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in Procurement or Supply Chain.
- Professional certification in Supply Chain preferred, APICS or ISM Certified. 5-7 years of people management experience.
- Experience as a Purchasing Manager or Supply Chain Manager.
- Strong knowledge and use of ERP Systems, QAD Manufacturing preferred. Familiarity with Strategic Sourcing, Kanban, VMI, MRP and other supplier portal replenishment processes.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Experience with A3, Six Sigma, PDCA and other quality toolkits Experience working in cross functional teams to solve manufacturing, quality, engineering and supply management issues.
- Ability to operate with Lean Manufacturing requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in remediation, corrective actions to comply or improve CFR 820.5 Purchasing Controls and or ISO 13485 Purchasing requirements Proficiency in mentoring, training, and coaching Buyers in a strategic and tactical role.
- Understanding of contractual terms, terms of conditions, non-disclosure agreements and other supply agreements.
- Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training. of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR / 98-282, 93 / 42 / EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred. Powered by JazzHR
