Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Assistive Technology Services Teacher provides assistive technology services to meet the individual needs of students in a variety of settings. Services can include instruction, consultation, and assessment associated with screen reading software, magnification devices and software, electronic notetakers, Braille displays etc.
- Demonstrate expertise and experience in use of a variety of technology and assistive technology assessment tools;
- Organize data to report in student individualized education plans and educational team reports;
- Assist students in the selection, acquisition or use of an assistive technology device including installation, training, or technical assistance for the child, family, professional staff and others;
- Prepare all required assessment reports;
- Provide direct instruction and consultation to students and staff;
- Assist teachers to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of children in the classroom using all types of technology;
- Communicate and collaborate with administrators, staff and parents regarding student progress and needs;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Must maintain valid Ohio teaching licensure for grade level, subject area or special class assignment (e.g., TVI, technology, computer science).
Must have or be willing to obtain Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist (CATIS) certification.
