Job Description Summary
The Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology department at Santa Fe College (SF) offers an associate's degree with transfer tracks in Art History, Art Studio disciplines, Dance, Music, Musical Theatre, and Theatre, as well as a bachelor's degree in Multimedia and Video Production Technology and associate of science degrees in Theatre and Entertainment Technology, Graphic Design Technology, and Digital Media Technology. For over 50 years, faculty members in Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts have worked closely with SF students to provide an excellent education in the fine and performing arts as well as provide multiple opportunities for students to exhibit and perform throughout their time at the college. Students' talents, along with their love of the arts, are nurtured and developed as they balance general education courses and program-specific work.
Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor will develop, prepare, and teach a variety of coursework consisting of Music Appreciation, American Popular Music, Introduction to World Music, Music Fundamentals and / or Applied lessons in Percussion, Brass, Strings or Woodwinds. The Adjunct Assistant Professor must have the flexibility to teach courses during the day, evening, or online, as well as taught using other distance learning formats. Additionally, adjunct faculty are employed on a term-by-term basis and may be assigned teaching duties at SF's main Northwest campus or at any of the College's six educational centers.
Part-time instructional service will be paid at a rate of $822 per semester credit hour and $32.88 per clock / contact hour. Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
Required : A master's degree in Music Education (MME) or a master's degree in Fine Arts (MFA) or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Music.
Additional Requirements : A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred : Relevant teaching experience within a community college setting is preferred.
