Position at Samtec, Inc Samtec is looking for a Procurement Buyer to work in our Colorado Springs, CO facility. This is a day shift position. Hours are M-F 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 00 PM. Pay is $24.00 - $ 28.00 per hour plus applicable bonus and is commensurate with experience. Examples of typical duties will include compiling prints, requesting quotes, placing POs, communicating with vendors, following up on delivery dates, and coordinating shipping for equipment. This role will also include basic project and asset management. Communication and schedule management skills will be used daily when discussing requirements with internal customers and external vendors. Essential Functions / Responsibilities. 1. Responsible for quoting and placing PO’s for custom tooling, equipment, hardware, and other miscellaneous items through global vendors2. Communicate with vendors to ensure on time delivery of components, provide updates to engineering team when there are delays or questions from the vendor3. Compile print packages with PDF’s and solid models to send to vendors for quoting4. Review purchasing agreements with vendors to ensure terms meet Samtec requirements5. Ensure equipment is set up with Samtec asset management systems correctly6. Onboard new equipment through the Samtec tooling qualification process7. Coordinate shipping and crating for tooling and equipment“The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities” Required Experience : 1. 2 – 5 Years’ experience in similar Purchasing role in a highly technical industry2. Professional knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office3. Demonstrate ability to quickly learn job specific software packages4. Experience procuring technical components and industrial equipment5. Knowledge and understanding of terms and conditions6. Mechanical print reading skills required7. Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), and people skills 8. Must be detail oriented and concerned with timely handling of requests9. Project Management training or experience is a plus 10. Strong math skills preferred 11. Solidworks and Solidworks PDM or other CAD software knowledge a plus for accumulation of drawing packages.12. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience procuring from machine shops is preferred Education 1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Training required 1.
