The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including managing recruitment, training, compensation, benefits, and performance. This position is within the Human Resource (HR) Operations Division, which supports the department in fostering a productive, inclusive, and compliant workplace while ensuring the well-being and development of its staff.
This position may be located in any NMDOT District office statewide and will be supervised by NMDOT General Office personnel.
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
Why does the job exist?
This Senior Program Manager will assist the HR Division, the Communications Division, and the Districts with strategic planning and coordination on recruitment efforts statewide, including rapid hires, job fairs, radio ads, social medial posts, and developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with schools across the state. The position will have positive organizational impact on NMDOT outreach, recruitment, and hiring, improving the agency's ability to attract the most qualified applicants.
How does it get done?
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Program Manager will include :
Coordinate and facilitate priority recruitment efforts and projects with HR, Comms, and the Districts.
Collaborate with divisions, bureaus, and units across the agency to timely address recruitment issues.
Develop and maintain productive recruitment relationships with local schools statewide.
Monitor and provide status reports on project process.
Recommend procedural process and recommend changes to improve recruitment and project outcomes, as needed.

All the New Mexico Department of Transportation staff including managers, supervisors and District HR Support.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have preferred experience and / or education in the following :
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Any combination of education and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
