Structural Steel Estimator

About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Estimator with at least five (5) years of experience in the structural steel industry. This is an office-based position that plays a critical role in generating accurate and detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication and erection projects. A strong understanding of construction practices and the steel fabrication / erection process is essential.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform computer-aided and manual takeoffs of structural steel components

Accurately interpret construction drawings and specifications

Understand and apply labor standards relevant to structural steel work

Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for scope accuracy and compliance

Generate clear, detailed estimate summaries, including specialized items for buyout

Provide mentorship and support to Estimators in Training, contributing to their professional development

Qualifications :

Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel estimating or a similar role

Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection methods, and construction processes

Proficient in estimation software and manual takeoff methods

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior staff

Base salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
