Duties Description

• Provide supervision for the NYC dedicated support group;
• Train new staff in desktop support and asset management for the group;
• Manage the stockroom at the location per ITS guidance;
• Provide Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices;
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows / macOS / and Microsoft applications;
• Respond to and resolve user-reported issues through a ticketing system within defined SLAs;
• Diagnose hardware and software problems and escalate complex issues to appropriate teams when necessary;
• Perform new employee onboarding tasks including workstation setup and equipment setup;
• Assist with the deployment of software updates, patches, and upgrades;
• Maintain asset inventory and track all hardware issued to employees;
• Support remote users through VPN, remote desktop tools, and cloud-based collaboration platforms; and
• Document troubleshooting steps in ITSM and create user guides and knowledge base articles.

Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 3 OR in a position at G-21 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.Note : If you are on the examination eligible list for the position title in this location, you do not need to respond to this posting unless you are also eligible for appointment by one of the qualifications listed above. Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.
