Design Engineer

About the Role

We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and lifecycle management of heavy-duty alternators used in demanding vehicle applications. This role is ideal for an innovative engineer with a passion for electromechanical systems and a strong background in product development from concept through production.

Position is On-site in Arcade NY

Key Responsibilities

  • Design next-generation alternators in a collaborative, global engineering environment
  • Create advanced 3D CAD models and manage engineering data
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and tooling
  • Lead product validation and testing to meet customer and industry standards
  • Conduct design reviews and maintain DFMEAs
  • Manage project timelines in alignment with TS 16949 and APQP standards

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in product design
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong background in electromechanical systems (., AC generators, DC alternators, rotating equipment)
  • Proficiency in GD&T and CAD tools (ProE / Creo required; SolidWorks a plus)
  • Experience with FEA (magnetics or stress analysis preferred)
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Windchill, Minitab, and tolerance analysis
  • Excellent project leadership, time management, and communication skills
  • Customer-focused mindset and ability to thrive in cross-functional teams

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 / hr.
