Job Title : Medical Assistant Job Type : Contract to Hire Location : Frisco, TX 75033 Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM or 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (Monday - Friday) Rate : Starting at $20.00 / hour Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform all tasks within the scope of a Medical Assistant’s practice.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment (note : interpretation of results is not required).
  • Remove staples from superficial wounds and change wound dressings.
  • Obtain cultures and administer non-intravenous medications.
  • Collect specimens via noninvasive techniques and perform venipuncture / capillary blood draws.
  • Conduct EKGs and perform quality control checks on diagnostic equipment.
  • Prepare and sterilize medical instruments using an autoclave.
  • Room patients according to clinic protocols and prepare them for examination.
  • Record accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians and in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate respectful, courteous behavior at all times.
  • Organize, stock, and clean exam and treatment rooms.
  • Practice standard infection control precautions.
  • Conduct telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and information gathering (no clinical judgment required).
  • Support and follow Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).

Required Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain certification within 180 days of employment.
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers (written exam and in-person assessment) at time of hire or within 30 days.
  • Basic computer literacy, including intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.

    • Preferred Skills & Attributes :

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
