Special Inspector

What You'll Do Perform inspections of structural components in new construction Perform inspections, including : CMU's, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, shoring / reshoring, post tensioned cable, precast / pre-stress members, wood-framed systems Conduct field observations and obtaining samples for testing Document field observations by transmitting daily field reports detailing site activities Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials, including operating electric, pneumatic and power actuated tools, performing ground penetrating radar (GPR) structural surveys, pavement condition surveys, and concrete sawing, coring, and chipping Perform observations of structural steel and reinforcing steel, including welded or bolted connections in the field, and observation of exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS), waterproofing, roofing, or window assemblies Communicate daily with site contractors, other technicians and project managers Perform administrative duties as requested CLT123 What We're Looking For High School diploma or GED 3+ years of experience ICC Special Inspector certifications strongly preferred Valid Driver’s License Position requires carrying 40 – 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height Additional certifications required as follows : If inspecting concrete components, certification from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) in concrete construction special inspection pursuant to the qualifications of such certification established by ACI on January 1, 2017. If inspecting masonry components, certification from the International Code Council (ICC) in structural masonry special inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by ICC on January 1, 2017. If inspecting post-tensioned components, certification from the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) in post-tensioning inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by PTI on January 1, 2017. If inspecting structural steel components, certification from the International Code Council or American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) in structural steel special inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by ICC on January 1, 2017, or AISC.
