Job Description
The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for developing and designing trainings and courses in alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements. This position partners with lines of business to identify, recommend, and present new training courses and curriculums while preparing course / curriculum materials.
Essential Functions
- Design, publish, and maintain web-based content
- Serve multiple business units and prioritize requests
- Ensure content accuracy and appropriateness
- Conduct ongoing management and maintenance of course content
- Recommend product / delivery enhancements
- Apply knowledge of instructional design theory to design course content while working with subject matter experts
- Define objectives for a course and / or curriculum
- Ensure that all course content is relevant and up to date
- Support training efforts in mergers and acquisitions
- Application of adult learning principles
- Stay current on learning tools, trends, and ideas
- Attend compliance training events to stay current with regulations
- Attempt to exceed departmental goals
- Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal / State regulations
- Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
- Work as part of a team
- Work with on-site equipment
Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Education, Teaching, InstructionalDesign or related subject preferred5-6 years of Instructional Design experience preferred5-6 years of Training experience preferredKnowledge of training techniques, adult learning theory, and curriculum developmentPossess a strong commitment to staff training and development and the ability to develop skill sets necessary for successAbility to be creative and innovative with training solutionsNorthwest is an equal opportunity employer.
