General Summary of Duties :
The Development Manager works closely with the Vice President, Development as a key contributor to the organizations fundraising strategy, responsible for securing individual gifts, expanding donor engagement, and supporting the operations of the Development team. The Development Manager will oversee a portfolio of $1M and be responsible for developing and executing strategies focused on annual giving, individual giving, and alumni giving. This position combines donor relationship management, campaign leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Essential and Other Responsibilities (perform other duties as assigned) :
- Conduct regular donor outreach, including cultivation meetings, solicitations, and personalized stewardship.
- Design and implement targeted fundraising campaigns and donor affinity groups (e.g., Impact Circle, recurring donors).
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure cohesive donor communications and an integrated fundraising approach.
- Execute peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives and support signature events aligned with annual development goals.
- Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Development to align strategy, maximize fundraising impact, and ensure consistency across all development efforts.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual giving program that identifies, solicits, and stewards all constituencies.
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of prospects, including their funding priorities, deadlines and contact information.
- Proactively manages a portfolio of donors, regularly engaging with donors, developing personalized touchpoints moving prospects from one stage to the next in the donor lifecycle : identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship.
Secures first-time and renewed donor commitments, handing-off mid-level prospects to the major gifts team as appropriate.
Produce progress reports for funder, management and board review.Support fundraising events through ticket and sponsorship salesDocument and track all fundraising activities in the Raisers Edge database, and develop and distribute regular progress-to-goal, moves management and donor activity reports.Qualifications and Experience Requirements :

Two to five years of professional experience with a successful record of accomplishment in achieving fundraising goalsExcellent organizational and time management skills, including setting and communicating realistic deadlines while overseeing a timeline and team members to achieve funder objectivesKnowledge of the local funding landscapeOutstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills with an in-depth knowledge of AP-styleContributes to a positive team dynamic and a participatory workstyleDiscretion and the ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivityExcellent reasoning abilities, sound judgment, superior interpersonal skills, and impeccable attention to detailProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs and fundraising databases, such as Raisers EdgeExcellent writing skills backed by case statements, proposals, and collateral material examplesSuperb verbal and presentation proficiency; as well as effective planning, organization, time management, and multi-tasking skillsExemplary emotional intelligence, with the ability to inspire donors and partners about the mission of BBBS MiamiFlexibility to work after regular office hours for programs and eventsEducation and / or Credentialing Requirements :
Bachelor level degree or equivalent fundraising work experience.CFRE or other fundraising certifications a plusSalary range : 65-85,000
