  • Facility Setting : Hospital - Cardiothoracic Surgery Department
  • Assignment Type : Locum Tenens (Travel Physician Assistant Contract)
  • Start Date : January 26, 2026 (allow 100-120 days for credentialing)
  • End Date : April 27, 2026
  • Schedule : Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM
  • Shift Duration : 8-hour day shifts
  • Estimated Weekly Hours : 40
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $5320 - $5700
  • Travel : Full travel expenses covered

Qualifications - Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant

  • Active Physician Assistant certification (NCCPA certified preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant in cardiothoracic surgery or related surgical specialty
  • Proven experience with standard / open cardiac and thoracic procedures
  • Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), first assist, and CABG procedures
  • Ability to harvest from the patient's left side (required)
  • Experience with Da Vinci robotics and endoradial procedures is a plus
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC experience preferred)
  • Active Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain (Virginia PA jobs)

    • Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in standard and open cardiac and thoracic surgeries as a Physician Assistant
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and first assist duties during cardiothoracic procedures
  • Support CABG, septomyectomies, and other advanced cardiothoracic interventions
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Document patient care and surgical procedures in the EPIC EMR system
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and surgical excellence
