job_description.job_card.job_descriptionSOLIDWORKS PORTFOLIO REQUIRED Design innovative cinema accessory products with Solidworks 3D part modeling to high levels of detail and complex feature trees Assembly modeling with standard and advanced mates Integration of electronics (printed circuit boards) into mechanical designs, considering wiring, thermals and airflow, conductivity (materials), etc. Create 2D drawings in Solidworks with hole callouts and toleranced dim Team player with a positive attitude, hustle, and a passion for designing cool stuff. Collaborate through frequent design meetings and one-on-one sessions with design lead and engineering team on project progress Work on several design projects at the same time Design input and collaboration with other designers on their projects Work with the production / assembly teams as needed for engineering support (custom assembly tools, 3D printed jigs, etc.) Willingness to go the extra mile and see a project through to completion Teachability and a spirit to help bring our design team to the next level Consent to whole-heartedly participate in nerf gun battles if and when the occasion presents itself Innovation of new and improved mechanisms for solving mechanical problems Understanding of applicable materials and their benefits and limitations Understanding of fasteners of all different kinds Proficient knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes Attention to machinability (we use 4-axis and 5-axis machines) Mindfulness of visual appeal in designs Implementation of 3D tools to increase visual interest and cohesiveness of designs (fillets, chamfers, shapes, cut-outs on large faces, etc.) Ability to work with and modify designs made by other designers Attention to design processes and improvement for faster and better work Attention to correctness and minimization of design oversights and mistakes Understanding of how to keep feature trees simple and fully parametric Understanding of top-down modeling and when it is appropriate Ability to fix impossibly broken feature trees in Solidworks Understanding of how to model in such a way that feature trees are minimal and future-proof Experience with fillets and chamfers, and their role in design aesthetics Hole wizard, feature patterns, sketch patterns Heavy integration of construction geometry in sketches Agreement that the mirror tool is usually a terrible idea Understanding of fully-defined sketches and assemblies Familiarity with metric and imperial systems of measurement Experience and understanding of Solidworks PDM

Design Engineer Solidworks / Creative Design / Mechanical Engineering
Wooden Camera is growing! We are seeking a creative mechanical designer to join our engineering team! We need someone who has a knack for mechanical engineering and 3D modeling, who can work quickly and efficiently, and has an eye for aesthetically-pleasing designs.
Responsibilities :
2.Maintain and improve organization of files in our PDM vault
3.Prototype and iterate designs using 3D printing and supplier samples
4.Assist with assembly team by designing custom tools to aid in assembly of designs
5.Oversee design into production, including communication with suppliers through prototype and sample processes

Requirements
Qualifications :
1.REQUIRED : Portfolio of projects demonstrating detailed 3D modeling capabilities using Solidworks (see woodencamera.com for examples of the level of detail we are looking for). Note : we are interested in Solidworks capabilities, not other CAD programs.
2.Preferred : Experience working in a design team
3.Preferred : Experience with 3D printing
4.Preferred : Certified Solidworks Professional (CSWP) certification
5.Preferred : Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
