Position Title :  Structural Designer

Location :  Birmingham, AL - remote work allowed but must be within 1 hour of Birmingham

Pay :  Negotiable based on years of experience

Length of Assignment :  3-year contract

Shift / Hours :  8am-5pm, M-F

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Designer to join our team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of related experience and a technical degree is preferred. This role includes producing design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, preparing layouts and conceptual designs, and preparing fabrication drawings. . The position requires travel 25% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models and design drawings for sitework grading and drainage.
• Prepare layouts and conceptual designs.
• Review vendor drawings.
• Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates.
• Work closely with engineers to implement designs.
• Ensure project completion within budget and on schedule.
• Conduct site visits for inspections and walk downs.
