Night Picker / Loader (Checker)

The Night Picker / Loader (Checker) is responsible for checking products picked on pallets against a pick list and loading products onto trucks for safe transport on the road.

Position Summary :

The Night Picker / Loader(Checker) works in a fast-paced environment and is expected to accurately check product picked and safely brace and load trucks error free.

What You'll Do :

• Doors assigned at the start of shift for loads to be checked and loaded on appropriate trucks.
• Check refrigeration units for fuel, that they are turned on and temperature properly set.
• Check pallet stacks to ensure the stability of the load and allow for safe transportation to the customer.
• Count and verify accuracy of loads against pick tickets and sign for accountability.
• Stretch wrap the load from the base of the pallet to the top six revolutions.
• Operate pallet jack to move product and pallets from warehouse to inside of truck.
• Load wrapped pallets in appropriate truck by stop sequence (last load first and so on).
• Load using wide direction of pallets and ensure load is stable and roadworthy.
• Performs tasks as needed to maintain the overall cleanliness of the warehouse; shipping dock, aisle and coolers.
• Alternate yard jockey.
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department and prepare for shipping.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Assists in billing process.
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers by location.
• Uses computer to enter records.
• Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
• Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
• Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor.

About You :

Preferred Produce warehouse experience.
