- Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement tailored therapy plans based on individual patient needs and goals
- Provide direct speech therapy services to pediatric patients in school settings or clinical environments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, physicians, and caregivers to ensure holistic patient care
- Utilize your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to inform treatment strategies
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy techniques as needed for optimal outcomes
- Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support communication development
- Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist in the relevant jurisdiction
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing disorders
- Proven ability to perform detailed patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate families effectively
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques specific to pediatrics and school-based services
- Passion for patient care with a proactive approach to improving communication skills in children
- Education Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of North Dakota.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Familiarity with pediatric speech and language development is a plus.
