Technical Training & Quality Lead

Position Overview

The Technical Training & Quality Lead will be responsible for ensuring Fibersmiths engineering teams consistently deliver accurate, high-quality fiber network designs. This role combines technical training, design quality review, and standards development to support efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across projects. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in fiber design who can translate complex standards into clear training and practical application.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for design teams, including onboarding and ongoing skill development.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design standards, and training resources.
  • Perform consistent timely quality reviews on fiber design packages to ensure compliance, accuracy, and constructability.
  • Identify design trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement; implement corrective measures through training and process updates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering leads, and field teams to address design-related questions and concerns.
  • Serve as the primary resource for technical standards, ensuring alignment across teams and projects.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in fiber network design, engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of fiber network architecture, design software, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct quality reviews and implement improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training.
  • Proficiency in fiber design tools such as GIS-based design platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to continuous improvement.
