About this role
Carrier’s manufacturing site in Charlotte NC is looking for a Welder / Brazer II that can weld metal parts together to build strong HVAC products in the Water-Cooled Line / Heat Exchange Line for Chillers. The Welder / Brazer II will use special welding techniques like Pulsed MIG, Short-arc MIG, and Submerged Arc welding to join different types of metals. A main part of the Welder / Brazer II job is to make sure the welds are solid and meet quality standards while also working efficiently to hit our production goals. We are looking for a person that is self-directed and who needs minimal work supervision, with effective communication skills; a collaborative attitude, and ready to assist teammates to meet shared goals and deadlines.
This is a 1st shift onsite role and will include working weekends and over-time when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute precise layout and fit-up tasks using advanced fixtures and positioners to ensure components meet exacting specifications.
- Skillfully deploy a variety of welding processes, primarily Pulsed MIG, Short-arc MIG, and Submerged Arc, on diverse metal types to create robust assemblies.
- Utilize MIG welding expertise to efficiently assemble fabricated metal products, consistently hitting production targets while maintaining superior quality.
- Produce welds that are consistently smooth, non-porous, and deeply penetrated, serving as a benchmark for quality within the team.
- Diligent follow engineering procedures and leverage appropriate jigs and fixtures to guarantee repeatable, high-accuracy assembly.
- Perform a variety of brazing functions across all material types, showcasing your versatility and broad technical skill set.
- Ensure a prefect final product by doing hand grinding and forming work.
- Operate equipment safely and proactive reporting on any hazards; maintain a secure work environment for everyone.
- Ability to perform vertical, flat and overhead welds with a good penetration and a quality appearance.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED2+ years of experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial welding i.e., Pulsed MIG, Short-Arc MIG or Submerged Arc processesPass the onsite training for Overhead Crane OperationPass an onsite 6G certification (Weld Test)Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as, kneeling, lying down and overhead, and climb & work from a ladder and lift up to 50 poundsPreferred Qualifications
Prior ASME certificationRead blueprint drawings and cut lists to interpret the job requirements.Math skills including fractions and angles to calculate and verify dimensions.Read tape measures and angle finders to accurately mark materials for cutting.Operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torches to cut materials.Operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches (Used for handling, assembly, and clamping).Operate equipment safely and proactively reporting any hazards to maintain a secure work environment for everyoneMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude, ready to assist teammates to meet shared goals and deadlines.Operate equipment safely and proactively reporting any hazards to maintain a secure work environment for everyone.Additional information
