TMB, Inc is seeking candidates for a Structural Engineer to support NAVSEA Acquisition Program Office Engineering Support Services requirements. This position is contingent upon the award of the PMS 406 contract.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering analyses of customer mission and performance requirements to define UxV attributes in engineering terms.
- Perform engineering studies leading to the allocation of UxV attributes to UxV systems in terms of design direction, performance, configuration, space and weight, and arrangement.
- Perform design and engineering studies to identify the degree of UxV systems integration required to meet the mission requirements.
- Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) of designs in the form of technical products such as drawings, conceptual and product engineering designs, calculations, schematics, reports, etc.
- Ensure structures can withstand the stresses and pressures imposed by use and the environment.
- Calculate stability, strength and rigidity and make sure the right materials are used for shipbuilding programs.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of relevant experience.Engineering experience related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs. Preferably for Navy shipbuilding and defense systems.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.Professional Engineer License is a plus.Must be a United States citizen.Must possess an active DOD Secret security clearance.Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.Benefits
