Human Resources Assistant

Wonderful opportunity exists to assist a top notch group of busy Recruiters as they staff a leading Union. This is an onsite Monday through Friday 9am-5pm long-term temporary position, with the potential of becoming direct hire. What You Will Be Doing includes : Assisting Recruiters with sourcing, screening, scheduling candidates and completing background and reference checks Reviewing employment applications for accuracy and completion Setting up applicants for testing and assisting them with questions Ensuring completion of new hire paperwork Answering phones and assisting callers Utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems and creating reports such as time to fill, hires per source, advertising costs, etc. Reviewing recruitment process and making recommendations for improvements Provide back-up support to Recruiters Qualifications You Should Have Include : Bachelor’s Degree is preferred Minimum one year general HR / recruitment office experience Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Prior experience working in a Human Resources department
