Senior Director, Engineering
Join STERIS as a Senior Director of Engineering, where you will be responsible for leading and executing the product development for a portfolio of GI (gastrointestinal) reprocessing capital equipment. The team consists of multiple disciplines including mechanical, systems, electrical, software and systems integration. Your expertise will be crucial in promoting a culture of execution and quality using the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams, helping STERIS to stay ahead of customer value and technological advances. You will identify opportunities to leverage innovation and technology to deliver competitive advantage. This role is responsible for cross-functional collaboration across technical domains including marketing, manufacturing and commercial teams. This position is located in Plymouth, MN.
What You'll Do as a Sr. Director, Engineering :
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed :
Required : Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant Engineering degree. 15+ years working in and leading new product development teams, with at least 3 years at the Director level. Experience leading engineering teams developing complex, electro-mechanical equipment. Experience developing engineering strategy, building high performing teams and executing projects through full life cycle development and market launch. Experience implementing process and rigor around design reviews. Experience in a highly regulated industry.
Preferred : Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred. Experience in Medical Device product development. Program Management experience. Other : Strong technical background with expertise in hardware and embedded design. Metrics driven mindset with a focus on achieving key performance indicators. Experience with agile development methodologies and tools. Strong business acumen that demonstrates a clear understanding of impact of innovation and technology has on business strategy. Excellent communication skills at all levels from senior executive to technology staff. Excellent leadership, team building, employee motivation, development, and coaching skills. Exemplary written and verbal communicator capable of high levels of collaboration with the ability to influence peers and executives. Deep knowledge of hardware and software development and systems integration.

Pay range for this opportunity is $164,262.50 - $212,575.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county / city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
