Responsibilities

The Field Specialist - with a commitment to the customer experience will be responsible for staging, installing and troubleshooting manufacturer and audio-visual applications within a team environment. This role requires an individual with high exposure to commercial Audio-Visual technologies, as well as knowledge and experience integrating within corporate, government, and education environments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed to team well with customers, sales, and service delivery team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Perform basic level site surveys and provide recommendation in accordance with skill set and the site readiness assessment form.Ability to work with minimal supervision and act as a team lead for project implementations.Installation of designed Audio Visual systems and solutions including pulling cable, custom terminations by solder, crimp or other method, rack fabrication, cable management, and testing of all signal flow paths. Communication and documentation skills – clearly define site / design challenges and assist with providing corrective resolutions to internal resources. Commission Audio Visual manufactured equipment to provide best possible video resolution and highest fidelity audio. Coordinate with client on necessary network requirements and configuration to integrate Audio Visual equipment onto existing customer networks. Provide user and technical level training on all installed systems. Complete and submit installation and documentation checklists, including as built drawings, configuration file backups and site photos. Recognize and appropriately escalate client issues to proper resources in the event resolution cannot be reached, including providing detailed and immediate notification and updates to key individuals / groups affected.Maintain discipline and professionalism during all interactions and in all verbal and / or written communications. Basic IP networking expertise and or education.Team contributor to overall team success and level of knowledge.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Good driving record to ensure insurability.
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience with professional Audio Visual installations.
  • Experience with control systems, matrix switchers, and digital signal processors, from a variety of manufacturers including Crestron, Extron, Polycom, and Biamp.
  • Experience with the installation and configuration of audio and video conferencing and their interpolation into a variety of room environments and larger Audio Visual installations.
  • Basic understanding of Networks.
  • Basic knowledge of VOIP and analog (POTS) phone systems.
  • Solid low voltage installation techniques.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
