JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Special Education Paraprofessional

Work Days : School calendar term or as assigned at the time of employment or as amended. Hours flexible but not to exceed 7 ½ hours per day with a morning and afternoon break and a ½ hour lunch break; breaks will be pro-rated for shorter contract hours of duty

Reports To : Primarily the learning center teacher who is responsible for special education student or students program in the building

REQUIREMENTS : Special education student(s) in various settings as directed by the IEP and special education teacher

JOB SUMMARY : Works directly with the classroom teacher to provide clerical and instructional support of the teacher

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITE S :

• Works with student(s) with disabilities under the direction and supervision of the learning center teacher
• Provides lesson and learning reinforcement through a variety of activities which follow the goals set forth on the childs IEP and which are consistent with the instruction with the teacher.
• Follow behavior plans and procedures as set down in school policy or in student individual behavior plans
• Provide assistance in self help and custodial needs including dressing toileting feeding etc.
• Maintains strict confidentiality regarding student information needs behaviors and programming.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
