Position : Milieu Specialist

Job Type : Full-Time / Non-Exempt

Shift Details : Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday | 7 : 00pm - 7 : 30am | Availability to attend court hearings when listed as a witness on a petition.

Work Setting : Crisis - Recovery Response Center, Living Room 2; Peoria, AZ

Salary / Hourly Wage : $20.00 - $21.50 / hour

Summary of Job : The Milieu Specialist position functions as a leader in providing de-escalation and support strategies to prevent the use of seclusion and restraint. The Milieu Specialist position also provides effective emergency response in the event of imminent danger in order to maintain safety and security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Guest Care & Advocacy :

Provides a No-Force-First recovery environment.

Responds quickly to critical situations that may require Restrictive Interventions.

Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers of individuals.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and / or ability required. High School Diploma or equivalent.

Security or law enforcement experience preferred.

Basic computer skills.

If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy.

Must be 18 years or older

Must be able to pass a seven-year background check.

A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Physical Demands :

May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and / or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Work Environment

May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and / or confused. Work may include travel throughout the geographic region.
