We support customers throughout the Department of Defense and U.S. Government in building innovative new tools to deliver unique, world-class data exploitation capabilities.
SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Scientist to join our team in Dayton, OH developing next generation sensor data processing and exploitation software for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working to develop performant and maintainable code as part of a rapid pace, collaborative, small-team environment consisting of Scientists, Engineers, and Developers. The successful candidate will be able to prototype, design, integrate, and test advanced software solutions that enable real-time dynamic processing of remote sensing data.

Responsibilities
- Researching and / or implementing new data processing algorithms and analysis techniques for remote sensor data exploitation
- Characterizing quality of algorithms and models
- Optimize existing high-throughput algorithms surrounding our image analysis, detection, and tracking efforts
- Software engineering to develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions that enable real-time dynamic processing of remote sensing data
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
A Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or MathematicsAbility to work in a variety of numerical frameworks whether based on C++, Python or MATLABExperience using Git-based code management and version control toolsDemonstrated experience working as part of a software teamThe ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD security clearanceDetail oriented and proficient verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability for cross-discipline collaboration (SciTec's culture emphasizes learning with staff enthusiastic to teach niche topics during the onboarding process and beyond)Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred :
A PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Mathematics5+ years Industry experienceExperience working on an Agile team and contributing to shared toolsProfessional experience with software prototyping, development, and integration within government frameworksExperience developing software for OPIR, EO / IR, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed dataKnowledge of DevOps techniques, including continuous integration and containerizationAn active DoD Final SECRET security clearance or higherBenefits
