JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for converting store-level truck count forecasts into executable outbound load plans at the Distribution Center. This DC-based role serves as the operational bridge between Supply Chain Analytics, DC Operations, Corporate Outbound Transportation, and Store Planning to ensure on-time, cost-effective deliveries while maximizing trailer utilization and aligning delivery schedules with store requirements. The Load Planner operationalizes the 3-week rolling store delivery forecast, manages trailer pools, coordinates carriers, and publishes the delivery schedule used for store labor planning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Forecasting & Planning
Receive and operationalize the 3-week rolling store-level truck count forecast from the Supply Chain Analytics team.
Translate forecasted truck counts into executable load plans based on DC inventory, inbound freight, and carrier capacity.
Maintain a rolling 3-week outlook on delivery volume to adjust for promotional or seasonal changes.
Publish the validated delivery schedule to Store Planning to align store labor scheduling.
Load Building & Trailer Management
Validate E2open load schedule and DC trailer loading to maximize trailer cube and weight utilization.
Manage the DC trailer pool, including drop trailers, live loads, and damaged trailers
Coordinate trailer closing schedules and pickup appointments with carriers and DC shipping teams.
Carrier & DC Coordination
Serve as the liaison between DC Operations, carriers, and Corporate Outbound Transportation for outbound execution.
Ensure trailer plans align with carrier capacity and pickup windows.
Resolve day-to-day operational issues such as delays, equipment shortages, or routing conflicts in real time.
Performance & KPI Management
Track and report delivery KPIs, including on-time performance, trailer dwell time, load accuracy, and trailer utilization.
Provide regular reporting to DC leadership, Corporate Outbound Transportation, and the Supply Chain Analytics team.
Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to stabilize flex day usage and optimize the outbound network.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or higher degree required / Bachelor's Degree preferred
3+ years in supply chain, transportation planning, or DC operations (retail distribution preferred).
Strong understanding of load planning, trailer utilization, and transportation management systems (TMS).
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional coordination (DC, stores, carriers, corporate).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to adjust quickly to changing priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and logistics software
