Reports to : Exceptional Children's Program Director and Site Principal
Purpose : To evaluate, plan and implement appropriate methods to assist students with special communicative needs to use the maximum communication possible.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech / Language Pathology.
- No lateral entries will be considered for this position due to compliance with federal and state mandates.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
Major Function : Planning and Observation
Organizes the local program and cooperates with teachers and paraprofessional to accomplish the goals.Coordinate program services with other student services.Maintain record in accordance with established rules, regulations and ethical standards.Major Function : Screening, Testing, Diagnosing and Advising
Conduct screening and testing to obtain diagnostic information.Analyze information and make recommendations regarding programs and services.Supervise interns and other professional, paraprofessionals, paraprofessionals and volunteersMajor Function : Developing Individual Education Programs
Develop individual education program to be used in the formulation of IEP goals and objectives.Major Function : Managing and Conducting Therapy
Plan and utilize appropriate diagnostic tools and therapy techniques to meet the needs of the student.Management of time, facilities and resources to facilitate the delivery of services.Promotes effective interpersonal relations and engages in continuing professional growth activities.Major Function : Liaison
Provides consultation, seeks assistance, utilizes related research, and makes recommendations and referrals in the implementation of servicesMajor Function : Professional Practice and Development
Adheres to standards of professional practice in delivery of services as well as in conversation and mannerisms.Seeks to improve professional knowledge and skills.Maintains confidentiality and provides support to the exceptional children's program and director, at all time.
