As we expand our portfolio, we're looking for a hands-on Controller who is eager to take on a leadership role in establishing financial procedures, controls, and reporting frameworks that will support our rapid growth.

What You'll Do

As the Corporate Controller, you will be at the core of our financial operations, working directly with the CFO to develop and oversee all accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Managing accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate coding for all balance sheet and income statement accounts. Special emphasis will be placed on inventory tracking, reporting, and reconciliation to ensure precise financial data. This involves reviewing expense coding from credit card statements, employee expense reports, vendor invoices, and more.
  • Overseeing accounts receivable to guarantee proper recognition of sales, cost of goods sold, and inventory valuation. This will involve daily coordination with sales, inventory, and operations teams to maintain clear communication and consistent accounting practices.
  • Calculating and facilitating monthly commission payments, working closely with Human Resources to ensure accuracy and timely disbursement.
  • Preparing detailed monthly financial reports that provide insight into financial performance, variances, and key metrics essential for decision-making.
  • Assisting with budgeting processes, development of cash flow projections, and forecasting to support strategic planning.
  • Supporting the administration, renewal, and management of insurance coverages, ensuring the company's financial risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Implementing controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within all financial processes.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate :

  • CPA certification or equivalent advanced accounting credentials (preferred but not mandatory).
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Controller role, ideally within startups, manufacturing, or distribution sectors.
  • Extensive inventory management experience, including tracking, valuation, and reconciliation.
  • Expertise in QuickBooks, with additional familiarity with Lightspeed DMS software considered a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial data clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
