Overview

We are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in Bixby, Oklahoma. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water / wastewater treatment plant including maintenance of equipment, quality control / testing and other day-to-day activities on an assigned shift.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm

  • This position has a pay rate of $25 / hr
  • This position requires a valid Class C Wastewater Operator Certification

Responsibilities

  • Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water / wastewater, sludge and effluent
  • Reports operating problems to lead operator or supervisor and performs directed corrective action during assigned shift
  • Monitors gauges, meters and control panels
  • Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine process adjustment requirements
  • Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
  • Starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
  • Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
  • Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
  • Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
  • This position required to be available on an on-call basis for emergencies and must live within 30 minutes of the facility to meet contractual response obligations
  • Travel between work locations is required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

    • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Drivers License
  • A valid Class C Wastewater Operator Certification
  • 1+ years experience in operating water / wastewater treatment plants
  • Ability to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems
