PLACEMENT : Placement on salary schedule is dependent on qualifications.
HIRING RANGE : Base Compensation Hiring Range for 2025 / 2026 Academic Year : $61912-$110322 / annually (9 months).
Base Compensation Hiring Range for 2026 / 2027 Academic Year : $63770-$113632 / annually (9 months).
Compensation placement based on education and related teaching / work experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

Fifteen credit hours a semester constitute a standard load. Course assignments may be late afternoon evening Saturday and at branch campuses or satellite centers. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
at least a minimum course load each semester during fall and spring semesters to include early morning classes day classes and evening classes. Classes will be primarily in our PCIT program but may also include our Electronic / Electrical Automated Systems (EEAS) program.
closely with other instructors and special programs and services within the college to determine placements curriculum and academic support.
in course development assessment accreditation and planning activities.
willing to teach online and / or blended courses.
in appropriate departmental meetings and recruitment activities; serve on committees.
students with academic advising.
with or coordinate program responsibilities.
a strong commitment to teaching and learning.
strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission.
at other campus sites as needed.
other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
degree in Process Control & Instrumentation or related field and / or equivalent education training and experience.
2.A minimum of 1 year of work experience with process control equipment in an industrial environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in any discipline preferably education or engineering.
2.A minimum of 7 years of work experience with process control equipment in an industrial environment.
in the design selection installation calibration commissioning troubleshooting and hands on repair of :
equipment such as process control systems (DCS and / or PLC based controllers) utilized to control the operation of a process
instrumentation for the measurement of flow level pressure temperature and analytical process conditions and the different technologies utilized to measure these processes
control and on / off valves of different type and manufacturer
controls such as timers relays and motor starters
analytical instrumentation (analyzers)
communications (Ethernet Profibus Modbus Wireless etc)
instrumented systems (SIS)
project engineering practices
reliability and planning
at the community college level including teaching or equivalent industry training experience.
in course development and assessment planning quality and accreditation processes and committee service.
with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
multicultural competence.
