Environmental Technician (4 : 00 AM - 12 : 30 PM)

Job Description :

A highly customer service-oriented position that is supervised by the Associate Director and Supervisors of Environmental Services. The position is responsible for performing the cleaning tasks required for the upkeep and cleanliness of college buildings and will assist the supervisor in the assignment and direction of work as required. This position is considered essential and requires the employee to work weekends and / or evenings.

Essential Job Functions :

10% A. Vacuum, spot clean upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner and / or brush. Clean baseboards.

10% B. Sweep and mop stairs, and landings by hand or machine.

10% C. Clean offices, classrooms, public areas, and restrooms.

10% D. Clean and dust furniture, bulletin cases, pictures, fixtures, door frames, and related furnishings.

10% E. Clean, sanitize and disinfect restrooms. Replenish paper and soap supplies.

10% F. Collect and carry out trash and recyclable material.

10% G. Perform snow removal as assigned.

10% H. Communicate to the supervisor any maintenance problems in the assigned areas.

10% I. Assist the supervisor with the inspection of work in the assigned buildings to ensure standards are being met.

10% J. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education :

Required : Combination of training, experience, and education directly related to custodial cleaning.

Professional Experience :

Required : Must have three years of custodial experience.

Preferred : Floor care training.
