About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director for its Special Projects Group in Transaction Advisory Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice to clients on U.S. federal income tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, with a primary focus on Section 382 consultative projects. This role involves being the main technical tax contact for clients, leading tax technical workstreams, and driving technological innovation in Section 382 analyses. The Managing Director will also be involved in training and improving the firm's deliverables related to Section 382, as well as marketing and business development within the area of expertise. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (with a preference for a major in accounting, finance, economics, or statistics), and a JD, LLM, or Master's degree in tax is also preferred. A minimum of 10 years' relevant tax experience is required, with a strong background in Section 382, consolidated return regulations, and Section 1202. The role demands a professional with a CPA, JD, EA, or equivalent certification, and experience in preparing and reviewing tax technical work. The ideal candidate will have superior communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, and the ability to lead and develop a team of tax professionals. Executive presence, integrity, and the ability to maintain client relationships are essential, as is the capacity to simplify complex issues and adapt to dynamic situations.
