We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and GAAP financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing financial guidance to support the company's growth and profitability. Position reports to the CFO and is located in Carrollton, TX.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage all general accounting functions ensuring revenue and expense transactions including accruals, deferrals and reserves are properly recorded in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the month-end close process, general ledger, account reconciliations and related analysis.
- Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and payroll.
- Provide financial oversight of inventory management by verifying and updating standard costs, reviewing inventory adjustments, evaluating adequacy of inventory reserves and analyzing and reporting on purchase price variances.
- Coordinate with external consultant and record keeper to administer the company’s 401K plan.
- Coordinate cash management activities with the CFO and FP&A
- Provide data to external audit firm performing interim and annual financial statement audits.
- Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, local, and property tax returns.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Manage the NetSuite ERP functionality as it relates to processing financial transactions and information.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
Required Education
Bachelor's or Masters degree in accounting or financeCPA designation10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of corporate accounting and financial systemsThorough knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and related footnotesExperience collaborating with and working across functional areas to articulate financial priorities and influence decisions to improve financial resultsHigh level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.Proficient in the use of various accounting software applications, such as NetSuite, ADP, and other cloud-based systemsExcellent analytical and organizational skillsPreferred
Experience with revenue recognition and inventoryExperience working with private equityExperience in a mid-sized manufacturing companyAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
