Low Voltage Electrician Job Overview :
FirstService Residential has various growth opportunities for maintenance professionals like you. Under the general supervision of the Director of Property Services, this employee will be responsible for creating a full-service low- voltage electrical department to service FirstService Residential – Missouri’s 200+ communities and its 30,000+ residents. The employee will be responsible for journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, and repair of residential and commercial security & access equipment and systems. This position is Full-Time, Monday through Friday
Responsibilities :
The individual’s daily activities will include low-voltage electrical troubleshooting, installation and general maintenance for our large single-family developments and high & low-rise condos.
- Install, service and repair all aspects of residential and commercial low-voltage electrical access and security systems in accordance with local and state codes.
- Diagnose electrical related problems and code violations; recommend and implement appropriate repairs.
- Ensure compliance of safe working practices and conditions in accordance with OSHA guidelines a
- Maintain records of customer requests, services performed or other related dispatch information.
- Work on a scheduled and on-call basis as assigned, responding to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
Additional Responsibilities :
Plans, monitors, and appraises electrical bid job performanceAnalyze load circuits, raceways, and panel capacities. Ability to read blueprint schematics.Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain a specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties.Education, Experience, and Requirements :
Minimum of five years’ experience in commercial and residential electrical service work and access system installations preferredThorough knowledge of local, state and national electrical codesExceptional customer service skillsValid driver’s licenseKnowledge, Skills, and Proficiencies :
Position Goal : Perform skilled duties in the design, maintenance, repair, and installation of various low voltage electrical systems.
High degree of technical knowledge related to all aspects of electrical workUnderstanding of residential and commercial low-voltage electrical systems (Security, building access)Understanding and installation of motors, control circuits, conduits, light and power circuits, generators, fans, fixtures & media equipment.Analyze load circuits, raceways, and panel capacities. Ability to read blueprint schematics.Install necessary interior and exterior wiring for equipment and appliances.Maintain inventory of stock and records of work performed.Basic computer skills, including emailBasic Smartphone knowledge and skillsAptitude for identifying inefficiencies and offering improvement strategiesStrong communication and organizational skillsConsistent and prompt follow-up with customersGood attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize work orders and project requestsTeam player with a collaborative attitudePhysical Requirements and Work Environment :

Travel :
Within the Kansas City metropolitan area. Must possess a valid driver's license and insurance and must not have a record of a revoked or suspended license as determined upon review of the motor vehicle driving report or record in accordance with applicable law.Must possess the minimum essential motor vehicle insuranceMust have a personal vehicle that will be used for business purposes (mileage reimbursement provided).What We Offer :

Compensation : $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
