Job Summary / Basic Function :
The Writer / Editor for Internal Communications position assists in the production of numerous internal and external communications including email communications, magazines, newsletters, websites, press releases, and more to share Wright State’s good news stories with the campus community and beyond. This role defines communication needs, develops detailed communication plans, and leads execution of those plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years related experience in communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, PR, Communications or equivalent is required.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal to effectively address all levels within the university.
- Effective organizational, planning and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrates knowledge in multimedia programming formats (video, visual storytelling).
- Ability to interact on a face-to-face basis with internal and external constituents and coordinate communications for various activities and events.
- Ability to manage deadlines and quickly changing priorities to deliver results as part of a fast-paced dynamic team.
Preferred Qualifications
The Writer / Editor Internal Communications will work closely with university leadership, faculty, staff, K-12 education leaders, community stakeholders, and external partners.
