Director of Quality Engineering

A robotics startup client of ours based in the Boston area is hiring a Director of Quality Engineering for a full-time leadership role. This company builds advanced mechatronic systems powered by AI and machine learning that are deployed in real-world logistics environments.

This is an opportunity to build and shape a QA / Test organization from scratch within a cutting-edge robotics company. You’ll work directly with engineering leadership to design automation frameworks, oversee hardware / software integration testing, and drive processes that ensure product excellence. Ideal for someone who has led SQA or validation teams in fast-paced environments and wants to own a function that will scale with the company. Expect growth, high impact, and close collaboration with cross-functional engineering and product teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in QA / testing for integration, performance, and scalability
• Experience testing autonomous or mechatronic systems
• Experience integrating hardware into automated test environments
• 3+ years of experience managing technical teams (hiring, promotions, performance)
• Proficiency in automation frameworks and test suite development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill
