Job title : Global Tax Director
About the client and role
The Director of Global Tax will lead a worldwide tax function across multiple jurisdictions. The role is responsible for tax strategy, compliance, reporting, audits, risk management, and corporate governance. This position is crucial in managing the tax complexities of a growth-oriented, tier-one automotive supplier with global operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with tax laws in all operating jurisdictions, including corporate, property, and indirect taxes
- Oversee timely and accurate filing of all global tax documents and disclosures
- Develop and implement global tax policies and procedures aligned with business goals
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize effective tax rate
- Monitor changes in local and international tax laws and assess business impact
- Investigate tax incentives during periods of growth or investment
- Coordinate foreign documentation for US federal income tax returns
- Calculate Subpart F taxable inclusions, including GILTI, and manage foreign tax credits worldwide
- Oversee global tax provision (ASC 740) and collaborate with external auditors
- Manage global transfer pricing policies, documentation, and annual studies
- Provide strategic tax support for legal entity restructuring and business transactions
- Manage all tax audits, inquiries, and disputes across jurisdictions
- Build and lead a high-performing global tax team and manage external consultants
- Supervise tax specialists in multiple countries for accurate filing of all applicable taxes
- Coordinate with finance, legal, and internal controls teams to manage technical accounting and governance issues
- Collaborate with business units to identify planning opportunities and maximize value from tax initiatives
- Develop standardized tax procedures and maintain a global tax filing calendar
- Enhance tax workflows, automation, and ERP system optimization
- Support corporate governance through board meetings, filings, entity structure, and document management
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required, Master’s in Taxation preferred10+ years of progressive tax experience, with 5+ years in senior leadership in a multinational manufacturing companyDeep knowledge of US federal / state tax laws and international tax, including transfer pricingStrong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skillsProven ability to operate in complex, fast-paced global environments and lead cross-cultural teamsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., CMS, Oracle) and tax software platformsMinimum Wonderlic score of 26Ability to travel up to 20% globallyAbout CLM
