Located in Amherst, NY, the Hampton Inn Buffalo-Amherst is strategically located between two popular destinations the Amherst Recreation Complex and the University at Buffalo North Campus. The Amherst Recreation Complex provides indoor and outdoor sports and recreational activities year-round. Its Northtown Center is the top tourism destination in town. The hotel is also unique. It is the first one in the nation certified for Universal Design, an emerging standard for socially responsible design.
Job Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the successful implementation of sales strategies. The primary focus of this position is to attract new business opportunities, maintain existing client relationships, and maximize revenue across all revenue streams.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Ensures all customer interactions and sales processes adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and customer service excellence. Strives to meet or exceed department company goals and objectives. Attempts to communicate with guests in guest's native language, if applicable. Reports maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries. Follows Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and report any defective, damaged, or lost PPE including equipment that does not fit properly to management. Follows all safety procedures and be able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
Education and Experience
High School Degree or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) preferred. 5 years of progressive management experience in a 4-star hotel or resort preferred. 5 years of experience at the executive level is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Delphi FDC Sales System experience preferred. Experience with social and wedding market preferred. Experience working with Hilton brands is a plus. Ability to read, write, listen, and communicate effectively in English. Demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees, and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand, and the company. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients, customers and the general public. Must have strong selling and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships, communicate effectively with staff and management, analyze and resolve problems, use independent judgment, and engage successfully with the public. Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients. Represent hotel at trade shows and conventions and / or participate in sales trips to key feeder markets. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and ability to effectively use hotel software systems. Ability to operate in a 7-day per week, 24-hour per day business setting. Ability to perform intermediate math to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
