Job Summary : Provides clinical patient care by administering appropriate treatment as assigned by the occupational therapist. Provides documentation by maintaining appropriate treatment records. Provides expert instructions to patients, patients' families, and students. Responsible for upkeep of equipment and resource materials.
Minimum Education : Associate's Degree in Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Licensure, Registration and / or Certification : Valid State of Oklahoma Licensure in Occupational Therapy Assist.
Work Experience : 0 - 6 months related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Ability to use computers, basic computer knowledge, as needed for data input and reporting. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective time management skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Decision Making : Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies / protocols have been established.
Working Relationships : Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give. Works directly with patients and / or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
