A local family owned Barberton restaurant is in need of an experienced cook.

Pay Rate : $

With a raise after 30 days

Schedule will vary - Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

This is a part time- 20-30 hrs a week

Job Overview : A restaurant cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring food quality, safety, and presentation standards are met. They work as part of a culinary team and follow established recipes and procedures to deliver high-quality meals to customers.

Key Responsibilities :

• Food Preparation : Prepare ingredients, including cutting, chopping, and measuring, to meet recipe requirements. Ensure all food is fresh and ready for service.
• Cooking : Cook dishes following established recipes, methods, and cooking techniques. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked to perfection.
• Station Management : Take charge of a specific station or section in the kitchen, such as the grill, sauté, fryer, or salad station. Organize and manage the preparation of dishes for that section.
• Quality Control : Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's quality and presentation standards. Taste dishes regularly to check for seasoning and flavor.
• Food Safety : Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage, handling, and cooking of food. Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace.
• Teamwork : Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Communicate effectively and assist with plating and expediting orders during busy periods.
• Menu Knowledge : Stay updated on the restaurant's menu items, specials, and changes. Answer customer questions about dishes and make recommendations as needed.
• Inventory Management : Assist in inventory control by monitoring stock levels of ingredients, reporting shortages, and participating in the ordering process when required.
• Adaptability : Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
