Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Facilities Technician to join our team in Hawthorne, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs across the facility, with a strong focus on HVAC systems. Your work will help ensure that all heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to maintain a comfortable and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities

HVAC & Facility Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation units.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve HVAC system issues to ensure optimal performance.

Conduct facility-wide maintenance tasks and respond to service requests and emergencies in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate records of all HVAC and facility repair work performed.

Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in HVAC technology.

Collaborate with facility staff to maintain a safe, comfortable, and efficient work environment.

APM System & Technical Maintenance

Operate and maintain the APM system and related subsystems at the O&M site.

Troubleshoot, identify, and repair failure causes; initiate repair procedures as needed.

Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on vehicle and wayside systems, subsystems, and components.

Operate, troubleshoot, and repair Central Control computer consoles, Wayside systems, or vehicle components as assigned.

Inspect vehicles and related equipment to detect failures or improper operation.

Operate trains, doors, guideway switches, and power distribution systems in manual mode.

Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic inspections following established procedures or instructions.

Repair or replace defective parts and components using manuals, drawings, specifications, and verbal directions.

Support recovery of malfunctioning vehicles and restore system operations during failures.

Assist passengers and respond to emergencies as required.

Complete thorough preventive maintenance checks on vehicles, systems, and subsystems.

Achieve and maintain all required functional certifications.

Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC preferred.
• Proven experience as an HVAC technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
